Commercialization and Operations

Value Management is the cornerstone of the Campbell Applied Physics commercialization and operations strategy.  Surrounding each program and project with best-in-class consultants, partners and suppliers, CAP ensures that every measure of the combined knowledge, experience and creativity of the project team is brought to bear on the effective and efficient satisfaction of customer requirements.

 

Robert B. Fien (COO) and his team work closely with the engineering and marketing functions to optimize product and information flows according to the global footprint of the organization; profitability; key suppliers, transportation costs and financial and commercial risks are analyzed and addressed; benchmarking is performed against best-of-breed models; strategic plans and operational procedures for key processes are established; and schedules, budgets and performance gauges are developed. Once green-lighted, performance to plan is continuously measured, plan modifications are recommended and implemented as necessary and, financial, operational and strategic performance is optimized.

Mr. Fien is an attorney and management consultant with over 25 years of experience working with manufacturing, construction, and technology-based enterprises.  His focus is on the structural and operational dynamics of organizations and commercial relationships (e.g., joint ventures, strategic alliances, supply chains, distribution systems, internal controls, etc.), program management and dispute resolution.  Mr. Fien holds degrees in psychology, management (BS) and law (jurist doctorate) and has received extensive post-graduate training in international commercial law (University of Salzburg), employee relations and benefits, tax, competitive practices and, dispute resolution (University of the Pacific).
